Sandra Burke, Ph.D
Sandra Burke is an Assistant Professor of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies. She received her Ph.D. in Media, Art, and Text from Virginia Commonwealth University and her MFA in Sculpture from the University of New Mexico. She is a scholar and an artist with a research focus exploring the intersection of queer theory, affect theory, and art practice. She teaches the introductory course for the department and upper-level classes in feminist and queer theory. In her art practice she works with sculpture, video, sound, and installation art and has exhibited nationally and internationally.
